Hello and Welcome!
Like many of you who are visiting this blog, I was also in search for blogs that followed the building of Ryan Homes Carolina Place. Not until this past week did I find not only one, but two blogs! So I figured I might as well add to the excitement.
Nick and I had been searching for the perfect house, primarily focusing on inside the beltway of the DC Metro area. Some of my favorite neighborhoods like Hyattsville, College Park, and some of the surrounding areas had such unique lovely homes. Unfortunately, after losing NUMEROUS bids on several houses it became frustrating and pretty depressing. Nick had really been pushing to look at new homes even though he knew how much I wanted something old and unique. I began to do my own search and came across The Carolina Place by Ryan homes. It was a new home that had touches of craftsman style that I love so much. I was pretty much sold from that point forward.
Our journey toward our dream home began back in April. I have been taking pictures almost weekly to help document the progress for friends and family and now for you to enjoy as well.
Below is the first image of the Carolina Place that I fell in love with. The location where we are building only had one lot which would allow for a side garage and it was already sold (this is where I shed a tear and moved on). I could still have the same style just with the garage facing the front and that was something I could deal with after walking through the model home in Odenton. It is GORGEOUS!

The picture below is the model home in Odenton, MD. If my memory serves correct this is a 55+ community but the only Carolina Place model in the area. So check it out if you like this style home!
Below are some pictures of the model home in Odenton. Our home will have the same layout with the garage on the left.
This mudroom will be included at our place :)
I LOVE this tile backsplash!
